The End of the Season...

This has been an incredible wedding season! From Vintage Hollywood to Shabby Chic, our 2011 brides have surely raised the bar when it comes to personal wedding style. I have always been a big believer that your wedding should not just be another wedding... it needs to be a true celebration that is a direct reflection of each couple's journey together. Wedding trends will come and go, but your love story will last forever. Remember, your wedding day is the first day of the rest of your lives together... xoxo

Bridal Shoe Bliss!!!

I had to share one my favorite details of the bride's attire... SHOES! Recently, in conversation with one of my brides we were discussing the obvious beauty of the ever so popular silver and crystal Jimmy Choos from the Anniversary Collection... a beautiful shoe, but not so practical for every budget or for comfort! You want to put your best foot forward on your wedding day... so why not do it in style but feeling great. Ever heard of Hey Lady Shoes? Talk about amazing! You can get just about any color, style, and not blow your budget. So what makes Hey Lady Shoes so different that your typical heels? Full arch support that will help evenly distribute the weight of the foot so there is not "numbness". The soles are even constructed with special technology found in basketball shoes to work as a shock absorber. One of the best features is the slender heel design which will take off 5 lbs and provide stability! Check them out at www.shopheylady.com

All Things Peacock...

Feathers are many bride's favorite embellishment this wedding season. Specifically, the peacock feather has been featured from hair pieces to centerpieces. The peacock feather is a beautiful, natural feather with a broad spectrum of colors. Since the peacock feather is so bold and intricate, it is important to use them in the right way when incorporating them in your wedding decor. Simple adornments such as adding the feathers to bouquets or centerpieces can add not only burst of texture but color as well. Peacock feathers are very versatile when considering color... many brides choose gold and bronze tones to compliment the feather accents. For an extra wow factor, try blending bright teals and purples to make it work for you! Here are some of my favorite inspirations for peacock feathers this season:

Wedding Budgets

The most important step every couple needs to take before planning one detail is to establish a budget for their wedding. Without a budget, wedding spending can spiral out of control. Most brides hear the word budget and shutter. Think of your budget as peace of mind... not only will it save you from costly mistakes but it will also save you a significant amount of time throughout the planning process. When researching venues, florist, caterers, musicians, etc. you need to know what and who you can afford. Not all vendors charge the same fees for their services. By having a well balanced budget you can make your selection process much simpler! It is also important to remember to update your budget along the way. Remember that your allotted categories can change as the details begin to come together. Always keep track of all deposits, payments, and overall spending so that you can enjoy your wedding without unexpected financial obligations! :)

A Royal Wedding!!!

Well next year is going to be quite an exciting year! We have a royal wedding (did I mentioned that I would LOVE to plan that wedding?!)  I honestly can remember when I was a little girl watching the wedding of Prince Charles and our beloved Princess Diana over and over. I would tell my mom that when I grow up and get married I was going to have a dress with a train longer than Diana's and a tiara & that was even prettier! Well.... no train and my veil fell off when I walked down the aisle! :)
I have to say that the much anticipated royal wedding will certainly have a grand influence on the wedding world as we know it. After Princess Diana chose her taffeta wedding gown it became the most copied wedding gown in history! So until then we will anxiously await to see what Miss Middleton has in store for us.
